Power Automate and n8n for Workflow Automation

  • Use Power Automate for user-facing flows

  • Use n8n for cross-system orchestration

  • Start with one high-impact process

Most teams still move data by copy-paste and email. Low-code tools like Microsoft Power Automate and n8n make it possible to automate those hand-offs without a full rewrite.

Power Automate: deep Microsoft integration

Power Automate is ideal when your processes live in Microsoft 365, Dynamics, or Azure. It offers rich connectors for Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and more, plus approvals and templates your team already understands.

n8n: cross-system orchestration

n8n is a great fit when you need to orchestrate data across many SaaS tools, custom APIs, and on-prem systems. It's self-hostable, extensible, and gives you fine-grained control over each step.

Using both together

In many engagements we use Power Automate for user-facing steps (approvals, notifications) and n8n for backend orchestration (calling APIs, transforming data, syncing systems).

Start small

Pick one process: e.g. "new order received" to "internal notification and task assignment." Automate it end-to-end, measure time saved, then iterate.
